Puma - Road To Maghreb - Dystinct
We made a short doc in collaboration with @puma where we jump into @dystinct1 and his team’s succes, following them on a nostalgic road trip from the Netherlands to Morocco. Along the way, we listened to his new album, which went global #2 in the charts, and captured moments of real togetherness. A strong friendship that turned into work and became family.
In a powerful new short documentary created in collaboration with Puma, French Hours takes viewers on a raw, nostalgic road trip from the Netherlands to Morocco, following the incredible rise of @Dystinct1 and his close-knit team.
This wasn’t just a story about success, it was about the journey behind it. Literally.
With just two weeks to prep, the production team had to move quickly. One of the biggest challenges? Finding a camper van that could make the full trip to Morocco, with a driver who was willing to come along. By pure luck, producer Isabella discovered that her neighbor owned one. Her name was Laura, and she was all in: “This van is indestructible. Let’s go to Morocco.”
Three days later, they hit the road.
The Journey Begins – May 25, Rotterdam
The crew met up with Dystinct and his friend Ice for breakfast in Rotterdam. The mood was upbeat as the adventure kicked off. The rest of the crew—director, DOP, sound recordist, and producer—drove ahead to prepare for a meet-and-greet in Antwerp, where a line of fans was already forming.
After spending the night in Antwerp, the crew had the camper wrapped with custom Puma branding, and Puma gear was delivered—no road trip without fresh sneakers and fits.
This was the first time Dystinct’s team of friends met the production crew.

Paris Bound (Very Slowly)
The crew departed for Paris, a bit behind schedule. Dystinct was nearly voiceless and needed medication. To add to the challenge, the van couldn’t go faster than 95 km/h.
They arrived late on May 26 and parked near a train station. The next morning, Laura and Isabella sprinted to the van after seeing a truck they thought was towing it—turns out, it was just the garbage service. Crisis averted.
Puma Style Challenge in Paris – May 27
The team shot a lively segment inside a Puma store, where Dystinct and his friends competed to find the best outfit within a set time and budget.
They continued their journey to Blagnac and spent the night. The next morning began with a workout and breakfast at a retro American diner called Memphis.
Over the Pyrenees into Spain
Crossing the Pyrenees, the team made a pit stop at McDonald's before catching a golden sunset at a gas station just after entering Spain. They managed to grab a few shots before the Spanish police showed up—curious but kind.
The van started to smell suspicious, so they pulled over to cool the engine and check for problems. Road trip reality.

Tarragona & Meeting Rajiko – May 29
After arriving late in Tarragona, the crew woke early to meet Rajiko; cycling all the way from Amsterdam to Casablanca for Dystinct’s concert.
In the hills, they filmed scenes with Rajiko as Dystinct shared a track from his album Bababa World - Amar Mas—connecting music, movement, and story in one perfect scene.
Surprise Festival in Elba
Later that day, they reached Elba, unaware the city was in full swing celebrating the Fiestas de Moros y Cristianos. Colorful parades filled the streets. The crew stayed overnight, then chased the sunset the next day at Mirador Las Ventanillas.

Sunsets & Setbacks – May 30
They found the perfect hilltop for a shoot—but accidentally ended up on private property. The landowner wasn't thrilled and kicked them out. With the sun going down fast, the crew had to quickly find another spot, set up chairs, and shoot before nightfall.
They drove straight to Marbella, exhausted and underdressed for the glam city center. But it didn’t matter. They made it.

Diesel Mishaps & Ferry Races – May 31
The next morning, the crew met at a gas station for a new challenge segment: Dystinct prepared breakfast for the team. But someone had overfilled the van with diesel, so they had to siphon it out by hand. Nothing like fuel fumes before eggs.
Later that day, they raced to catch the ferry from Tarifa to Tangier, quickly transferring all gear from one van to the camper. Half the group walked onboard, the rest rode in the van. They made it—just in time.
Touchdown in Morocco
At the Moroccan border, they faced strict customs checks—bags searched, dogs sniffing, questions asked. But eventually: clearance granted. They drove into Tangier, finally touching African soil.
They paused to sip Moroccan mint tea on the beach. In true fashion, they gifted the tea man Puma slides, candy, and some cash—until he ran after them for more. Welcome to Morocco.
That night, they continued to Casablanca and checked into a beautiful hotel.

June 1 – The Big Day
Exhausted but buzzing, the team woke early for a full day of interviews. They had breakfast across from a local food stall. Director Jonas dreamed of filming on a rooftop, and Isabella made it happen—the breakfast stall owner had a rooftop to spare.
That evening, the crew headed to Morocco Mall, where the stage was being set for Dystinct’s first-ever concert in Morocco. After thousands of kilometers, sleepless nights, engine troubles, and unforgettable memories, it finally sank in:
They made it.

A Journey Beyond the Music
This wasn’t just a promo trip. It was a real journey—across borders, personalities, and moments of chaos and connection. A road trip that mirrored the essence of Dystinct’s success: real people, real stories, and a deep belief in the magic of collaboration.
French Hours is proud to have captured it all.
